Is Social Distancing Here to Stay?

It's a strange world we live in; and let me tell you we are one of those weird, mysterious creatures on this planet, who are hard to decipher. Although we humans have always lived life on our terms, we have still been very dissatisfied and complaining about so many aspects of our existence.

'Freedom', is, and has been forever, one of the most valuable ingredients of our human nature. We have lived free, and enjoyed freedom in every way, almost, and at times also exploited it. The time preceding this crisis was perceived tough by us, as we had to go to work, be away from home, travel long hours, bear with traffic, children were worried about school, lessons, upcoming exams and the list of worries did not end. But we could have focused our energies on the freedom we had to move about, meet our friends, go out of our homes, meet people, travel, greet people with hugs, sip a hot cup of coffee in the office canteen, go to our workplaces and contribute to the economy.

Most of us at home, although working with comfort, are so wanting, wishing, and praying for normalcy to resume soon. With the figures of COVID 19 positive, that everyday news brings us, we don't know if the world will be the same again. As days are passing, the news keeps floating around the latest job distresses which the world is facing. Due to economic slump, well-known organizations, who are supposed to be industry giants are taking their decisions of salary cuts, bench people due to lack of projects, give furlough, or big them goodbye.

The increasing anxiety of having our freedom back, enjoying human connection, tasting that hot cup of coffee in the office canteen, and hugging a friend or meeting a relative is tearing us apart emotionally. To top it up, the economic crises which this pandemic COVID 19 has brought, has drained us financially too. Our hands are tied and we have lost the freedom to earn a living the usual way, look for new opportunities, and grow our finances and careers. We now yearn for the freedom we once took for granted and also took advantage of.

Will humans ever enjoy the freedom of moving out, without distancing from each other, or Social distancing is here to stay? What do you think?
